Sadly, this was Elizabeth’s last baby plan session with me! I have loved photographing her over the last year and it has been so much fun to watch her grow. Her newborn session can be seen here, and her seven month session is here. We started her session with an Easter setup since her first birthday fell shortly before Easter this year. She looked so cute in the pink pettiskirt and bunny ear headband!
Elle’s mom wanted to do her first birthday session at the studio so we could include an indoor cake smash, but she also brought this dress and had envisioned photos of Elle wearing it outdoors. As my previous clients know, there isn’t really an outdoor area at the studio — it’s located inside an office complex with parking lots surrounding it. There is one teeny tiny strip of grass across the street and that’s where this next setup was taken. Elle was happy to stand there and model her dress as long as she could hold a leaf!
These next two are some of my favorites. If you clicked the links for Elle’s previous sessions, you will see that we always include her big brother Peter in a few shots. He is so good with her and I have loved seeing how much Elle adores Peter as she gets bigger!
After we took a few outdoor photos, we headed back inside for one last studio setup before Elle’s cake smash. Her mom picked out this teal lace romper and headband from my stash of props, and it looked so cute on Elizabeth! She looks so sweet and girly in these!
Finally, we ended Elle’s first birthday session with a cake smash. Her mom brought in this cake with flowers and Elizabeth had a wonderful time destroying it! She was so funny — she ate the cake by using her first birthday candle as a spoon. The one shot where she looks like she is crying hysterically is from when her mom tried to take the candle away. The next image where she is smiling was taken about 2 seconds later when her mom handed her the candle again. One year olds are so funny!
Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph Elle’s first year!
