Congratulations on your new arrival and thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your baby’s first session!
The Studio
1215 Lee Avenue, Tallahassee FL 32303
Located off 7th Avenue, across from TMH
What to Bring
Pacifier: If you are okay with baby using one, these are so helpful when moving your little one between setups
Change of clothes: The studio will be warm for your baby’s comfort during the session. If you are doing family photos, we will do those at the beginning and then you can feel free to change into lightweight comfortable clothing.
Props: I have so many options at the studio so you don’t need to bring anything. If you do have something special or sentimental you’d like to include, though, that’s always welcomed.
Diaper bag and milk: Babies often eat more during the session than they typically would otherwise because we are moving them around a lot and they aren’t sleeping as soundly. If you aren’t nursing, please bring an extra bottle or two just in case.
What to Wear
Simple solid colored clothing photographs beautifully. Logos and graphics can be distracting in photos. Subtle patterns and textures look great. If you aren’t sure what will photograph well, show me what you have in mind and I’m always happy to give suggestions. Moms also have the option of wearing one of the beautiful gowns in my client closet. These can be worn for more than just maternity! I do have some toddler sized clothing at the studio as well, and older siblings are welcome to wear it during the session.
Before the Session
- Most people have their baby swaddled (I have dozens!) or undressed for family photos. If that is your plan, please bring your little one to the session dressed in a button up or zip up sleeper or outfit. Avoid onesies and anything that pulls over the head.
- If you would like your baby dressed in a special outfit for family photos instead of swaddled/undressed, then the baby should arrive in that outfit instead.
- Please try to feed your baby right before leaving for the session. Usually the car ride puts them right to sleep, and they will be content and sleepy with a full belly and ready to start photos when you arrive!
