About Beth Johnson Photography

Hi, and thanks for visiting my blog! This is where I share recent sessions as well as occasional promotions throughout the year. I am so lucky to have a job where I get to do what I love every day. I specialize in newborns and babies and also love to photograph maternity, children, and families.

I am a proud member of Professional Photographers of America, a board member for the Tallahassee Professional Photographers Guild, and a member of Operation: Love ReUnited.

I am a Tallahassee, FL native and FSU graduate. Besides photography, I love to read, travel with my husband, play with my 2 dogs (both rescues), and spend time with my family, who I am lucky to have close by.

Thanks for stopping by! Please contact me with any questions or comments you may have – I’d love to hear from you!

April 2011 Print Competition Winning Image | Tallahassee, FL Photographer

This image won the “Portrait of a Group” category for our local Professional Photographer’s Guild meeting tonight. I was so excited, because this is one of my favorite newborn images ever. I LOVE newborn photography and two babies are just double the cuteness!

March 2011 Print Competition Winning Image [Tallahassee, FL Photographer]

Friday, April 15th, 2011

I am so honored to have won the “Portrait of a Group” category at our local Professional Photographer’s Guild print competition again this month.

I haven’t shared this session yet because the dad is currently serving our Air Force in Iraq. This family participated in Operation Love ReUnited, and I have shipped an album of images for him to enjoy while he is overseas. He hasn’t seen the photos yet and I will keep the rest a surprise until he gets the album, but I did want to share this one image, which won in March’s print competition.

This is 3 year old Sienna with her daddy, William P. This whole session made me teary eyed when I was editing it, and I can’t wait to share the rest!

This image was taken during a session for Operation Love ReUnited, which is a wonderful organization for military members who are deploying or returning from deployment to have a complimentary photography session with an album sent overseas to them. If you or someone you know is currently serving in our military and facing a deployment, please look into this organization!

February Print Competition Winning Image

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

I am a member of the Tallahassee Professional Photographer’s Guild, and at our meetings every month, members submit images for print competition. Prior to tonight, I had never participated because I was a little nervous, and because I usually forget to plan ahead enough to order images from my lab in time for the monthly meetings. I decided that in 2011 I was going to submit images every month, because it’s nerve-wracking, but fun, and it’s great for the critique you receive. Tonight’s meeting was the first time I ever submitted images, and I am so excited because one of my images was chosen not only for the Portrait of a Group category but also for the overall Print of the Month winner.

This is the winning image, from a session I shot at Oven Park last October.
