About Beth Johnson Photography

Hi, and thanks for checking out Beth Johnson Photography! I am a Tallahassee, FL native and FSU graduate. I love photography, and especially capturing moments with newborns, children, and families. Newborns are my absolute favorite type of session to photograph. There is something indescribably special about new life, and I love coming back to see those babies grow up.

I also enjoy photographing engagements, senior portraits, bridal portraits, maternity sessions, and more! Children are absolutely adorable, but it is always fun to photograph adults who can stand still for photos!

Besides photography, I love to read, travel with my husband, play with my 2 dogs (both rescues), and spend time with my family, who I am lucky to have close by.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to photograph your family soon! Beth

I met up with this sweet family at Maclay Gardens for Nate’s six month portraits and had a fantastic time with them. Nate is just as sweet and perfect as can be, and he was so well behaved for our session. He has the most gorgeous blue eyes and was really fun to photograph. Julie and Kevin, thanks so much for choosing me to photograph your family and I’m looking forward to seeing you again in a few months for Nate’s 1st birthday session!

I’m ending with my favorite — I love that Nate reached up to touch his mommy’s face right before I snapped the photo. So sweet!

I was so excited for Megan’s session and really looked forward to it. I had a great time with her mom during her maternity session, so I couldn’t wait to see the family again for Megan’s newborn session. Plus, after having so many newborns in May and June, I had a 6 week gap with no newborns, so I was definitely ready to snuggle another little one by the time Megan was born!

Aren’t these hanging name letters adorable? I’m going to have to remember these for when I have my own babies — I love them!

This may be the biggest newborn smile I’ve ever seen. I took the photo above with the name letters and then put my camera down. I glanced up and saw Megan grinning and threw the camera up and snapped as quickly as I could and somehow managed to catch her grin before she stopped. She has a seriously cute smile!

I found this newborn sized bed (it’s actually for American Girl Dolls but it works perfectly for newborns) on Etsy and was so excited to use it for Megan’s session. I love it! I can’t decide if I want to paint it white, distress it a little bit, or leave it as is.

Megan’s parents’ church sent her a beautiful bouquet of flowers in the hospital and her mom requested a shot with the flowers in it so she could show the church. I think it turned out pretty cute!

I love this shot of Megan’s daddy holding her in his hand:

And I can’t resist posting a photo of her proud big brother Christian. He was the biggest helper during our session. He’s only seven but he is so mature and gentle. He insisted on helping me carry in my props and blankets and he is just the sweetest little boy.

How cute are these three?

Alex is four and a fantastic big brother to Ana, who’s 3. Alonzo is their big sister Monica’s little one, and he is adorable at three months.  These guys drove over an hour to get to our session and even though it rained through half of the session and we had to move over a covered picnic area to finish the last few photos, we had a great time. Alex and Ana kept me laughing and they were so sweet. Alex is so protective of his little sister. He didn’t hesitate to hold her hand to help her over the bridge.

Another sweet sibling shot of Alex and Ana:

And Alonzo was just precious:

Monica and Cindy, thanks for driving so far for our session! I had a blast with your sweet kids.
